A Photo that I set up. Haha..
For the past two weeks, we have had around 20 members from Shepherd in Beijing for the 2008 Olympics.
It was several years ago that the Lord put it on my heart to take advantage of the opportunity that the Olympics would afford us and see how many seeds we could plant with regard to the gospel. Words cannot fully describe the joy of my heart in watching members of Shepherd share the love of God with so many people in such a short period of time.
We took a drama team, a music team, a photography team, and a basketball team, to name just a few. We spent a LOT of time in the city parks and were well received by the Chinese people. We handed out Bibles as well as some gold pins that read “More Than Gold” that were used as a springboard to tell people that in God’s eyes they were worth MORE than GOLD.
Despite the threats of the government, and of course, the language barrier, God granted us ample opportunities to share HIS message, to hand out Chinese Bibles, and to serve the people of China.
China has 1.2 Billion people, most of whom have never heard of Jesus Christ, and they are in desperate need of salvation and the word of God. I am currently wearing a wrist band that says, “Pray for China.” Please join me in praying for the people of China, that God would not just grant them “human rights,” but that God would also grant them religious freedom, and that the Gospel would be spread throughout its land.
