Two important figures that Nativity scenes miss are Simeon and Anna in Luke 2:25-40. Both were filled with the Holy Spirit and anticipating the arrival of the Messiah. Simeon was waiting for the consolation of Israel, while Anna was waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem. Both recognized that the infant child Jesus was the Christ and greatly rejoiced!
